WeChat launches new feature! Netizens: Feeling warm-hearted

Tencent recently announced the launch of an innovative service on the WeChat platform called "Find Nearby Jobs", aiming to provide job seekers with a more convenient way to search for job opportunities. Currently, this service has been launched in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, marking an important step for Tencent in promoting employment and supporting the development of the gig economy.

The "Find Nearby Jobs" service is implemented through WeChat mini-programs, allowing users to easily find job information around them. This feature not only provides job convenience for local residents but also offers a quick recruitment channel for companies and businesses. Tencent stated that this service is particularly suitable for older workers who wish to find jobs near their homes, as it recommends suitable job opportunities based on the user's location information.

As of now, the "gig market" has listed over 3,000 positions, covering various roles from warehouse clerks and control officers to operations managers and quality control supervisors. These job postings detail monthly salaries, company names, and addresses, allowing users to sort and filter based on their location.

To further protect the rights of gig workers, WeChat Pay has introduced the "Micro Work Card" service. This service integrates functions such as electronic signing, real-time location clock-in, attendance management, and daily insurance, providing comprehensive security for the gig market. Currently, the "Micro Work Card" has covered over 10 million gig workers, helping the gig economy group increase their income by a total of 20 billion RMB, with daily insurance covering over 1.7 million person-times.

Tencent also emphasized that while the "gig market" mainly serves gig workers, some factories also directly recruit regular workers and technical workers through this platform. In addition, Tencent stated that in the future, the "gig market" will gradually expand to other cities and ensure that all partner platforms are legitimate with complete audit mechanisms.

The job information in the "gig market" in Jiangmen City comes from the Youxin platform under the Guangdong Postal Sub-branch, which has been approved by the Jiangmen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. Tencent also provides an option to "only view daily pay", currently offering temporary positions for "feed packaging temporary workers" in the Jiangmen area, with daily wages ranging from 200 RMB to 220 RMB.
