NVIDIA and Emerald AI are collaborating with six major power companies to advance the construction of a new generation of AI factories, aimed at accelerating grid integration and supporting the grid as flexible energy assets. The new factories will adopt NVIDIA's AI factory design, utilizing nearby power generation and storage facilities as transitional power sources, forming hybrid AI factories to enhance grid responsiveness. The partners are committed to building generation capacity to meet the growing demand for electricity

According to Zhitong Finance APP, NVIDIA (NVDA.US) is collaborating with Emerald AI and American Electric Power (AES.US), Constellation Energy (CEG.US), Invenergy, Nextera Energy (NEE.US), Nscale Energy & Power, and Vistra (VST.US) to jointly promote the construction of a new generation of AI factories. These factories will not only connect to the power grid faster but will also serve as flexible energy assets to support the grid.

According to the partners, the new generation of AI factories will adopt NVIDIA's Vera Rubin DSX AI factory reference design, which includes the DSX Flex software library to achieve efficient integration of AI factories with grid services.

To enable rapid deployment, AI factories can initially use nearby power generation and storage facilities as transitional power sources, forming hybrid AI factories; subsequently, these resources can be flexibly scheduled to supply power to the grid, thereby accelerating the grid connection process of AI factories while supporting a broader power system. The partners stated that this model helps speed up the deployment of AI computing power, creating more value for customers and communities.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated, "NVIDIA and Emerald AI are working together to build the future of AI, enabling performance, efficiency, and grid responsiveness to be coordinated in real-time."

The collaborating companies also pointed out that Emerald AI's Conductor platform will coordinate computing power flexibility, integrating on-site generation, storage, and other user-side resources to achieve precise power scheduling in response to grid demands.

AES, Constellation, Invenergy, Nextera Energy, Nscale Energy & Power, and Vistra have committed to actively building generation capacity to ensure supply meets the growing electricity demand.

All parties will jointly assess optimized generation solutions for AI factories. These AI factories will be built based on the architecture jointly developed by NVIDIA and Emerald AI and will explore hybrid project models using nearby power supply to shorten the power-on cycle and create greater value for the grid
