Arm releases new AI chip expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue annually
Chip design company Arm (ARM.US) announced on Tuesday the new AI data center chip AGI CPU, which is planned to enter mass production in the second half of this year and is expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue.
The AGI CPU will be used for processing the data computations required for a certain type of artificial intelligence that can act on behalf of users with minimal supervision, rather than responding to queries like a chatbot.
Meta (META.US) will be the main partner for the company's AGI CPU, and the two companies have collaborated on its design. Arm's new chip clients include OpenAI, Cloudflare (NET.US), SAP, and SK Telecom
