Peru's government has halted the start of Southern Copper's Tia Maria project, nullifying its exploitation phase. The project will undergo a new evaluation to ensure the soundness of the mining process, according to the mining ministry's statement.

LIMA, April 10 (Reuters) - Peru's government said on Friday that the start of exploitation at Southern Copper's ( SCCO ) Tia Maria copper project has been nullified and is awaiting a new evaluation.
