Google's parent company Alphabet disclosed on Thursday that it holds SpaceX shares valued at $94.1 billion, which contributed the majority of the company's unrealized gains of $99 billion in marketable securities for the second quarter.
According to the quarterly financial report, the tech giant's trading equity securities are divided into two parts: $80 billion worth of SpaceX shares that cannot be sold in the short term; and another $14.1 billion worth of shares that will be locked up until the third quarter of 2027. SpaceX went public on NASDAQ on June 12, 2026, under the ticker symbol SPCX, with this IPO setting restrictions that prevent founders, employees, and early private investors from immediately selling their shares after the listing.
