Anthropic's Annualized Revenue Reportedly Exceeds $65 Billion in July, More Than Sevenfold Increase from Late Last Year
Reports last Friday stated that Anthropic's preliminary revenue for Q2 exceeded $11.5 billion, a nearly 14-fold year-on-year increase, with adjusted operating profit also turning profitable
According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, Anthropic PBC is currently growing at an annualized revenue run rate exceeding $65 billion, representing more than a sevenfold increase from its level at the end of last year.
As of the end of July, Anthropic's annualized revenue (Run Rate) surpassed $65 billion. Annualized revenue is a metric that extrapolates full-year income based on revenue performance over a shorter period. Anthropic disclosed this figure during regular updates to investors.
According to a Wall Street News article last Friday, Anthropic's preliminary revenue for the second quarter exceeded $11.5 billion, compared to just $787 million in the same period of 2025, marking a nearly 14-fold year-on-year increase. The first quarter of this year saw revenue of $4.73 billion. Adjusted operating profit for the second quarter also turned profitable.
Previous media reports indicated that Anthropic internally projected its 2028 revenue to reach approximately $190 billion to $200 billion, significantly higher than the $47 billion annualized revenue announced in May this year and the recently revealed $65 billion annualized revenue.
The rapid revenue growth has further strengthened Anthropic's plans for an initial public offering (IPO). Both Anthropic and OpenAI have secretly filed listing documents, with Anthropic expected to potentially list on Wall Street as early as this autumn, ahead of OpenAI.
Once considered a laggard in the AI sector, Anthropic has now gained increasing market recognition for its AI tools capable of simplifying complex tasks, including applications in the programming field. By the end of 2025, Anthropic's annualized revenue had exceeded $9 billion, further breaking through the $47 billion mark in May this year.
Previous media reports stated that OpenAI's current annualized revenue has also exceeded $40 billion. However, the two companies may not calculate annualized revenue in exactly the same way.
