According to data from market research firm Canalys, Apple's smartphone shipments in China dropped significantly by 25% in Q4 2024, yet it still maintained a leading position with a 17% market share, shipping 13.1 million iPhones. Huawei, on the other hand, saw a 24% increase in shipments, reaching 12.9 million units and tying with Apple for the top market share. In response to the rising competition from domestic brands, Apple adopted price reduction promotions and enhanced its competitive edge through improved retail experiences, trade-in programs, and expanded interest-free installment plans. For the full year of 2024, the Chinese smartphone market showed signs of recovery with a 4% year-on-year increase in shipments, totaling 285 million units.$Apple(AAPL.US)
