
TSMC led all rivals in Taiwan 305 patent applications for inventions in Taiwan in the 1st quarter, media report, followed by memory chip maker Nanya Technology (127) and power-supply king Delta Electronics (82). US-based Applied Materials was the 1st among foreign firms with 263 applications, followed by Japan’s Tokyo Electron at 236. Japan led all foreign nations with 3,538 patent applications in Taiwan during the quarter.
