Just saw $Super Micro Computer(SMCI.US) getting absolutely hammered - down ~20% pre-market 💀
Co-founder Wally Liaw got indicted for allegedly smuggling $2.5B worth of Nvidia AI servers to China. Apparently used shell companies in Southeast Asia, fake documentation, even dummy servers to fool compliance audits.
Some wild details - allegedly used a hair dryer to swap serial number stickers and coordinated through encrypted group chats.
Company put him and another employee on leave, fired a contractor, and says they're cooperating. SMCI itself isn't charged (yet), but... yikes.
Liaw personally holds like $460M in SMCI stock. Not a great week for him.
Going to be an interesting open. Anyone holding?
