Flabeg Automotive Germany, located in Fürth, Bavaria, has filed for bankruptcy with the Nuremberg District Court. Lawyer Volker Böhm has been appointed as the insolvency administrator, and evaluations indicate a willingness among all parties to cooperate on restructuring. Currently, production is running at full capacity, and orders are being delivered normally. As a global leader in automotive rearview mirror manufacturing, Flabeg boasts highly specialized employees capable of both large-scale and small-batch production. However, affected by the transformation in the automotive industry, the company has seen reduced orders, increased pre-financing costs, and difficulties in securing new clients and orders.
Previously in 2020, Flabeg underwent bankruptcy protection, with annual revenues exceeding 85 million euros and approximately 1,100 employees worldwide. Despite restructuring and layoffs, operations continued in subsidiaries. Now facing another restructuring, there is a risk of further job losses. Founded in 1882, Flabeg is a global market and technology leader in automotive rearview mirrors, holding a 72% market share in Europe, over 70% in South America, and more than 10% in Asia. Yet, it still could not escape the fate of bankruptcy.
