The prices of the new electric MINI COOPER and MINI ACEMAN have been reduced to 148,800 yuan and 163,900 yuan respectively, with reductions of up to 41,000 yuan and 46,000 yuan.
This move covers all previous car buyers, and even those not within the '100-day price protection after purchase' policy will receive cash compensation.
This price adjustment eliminates the entry-level models, with improved vehicle configurations, resulting in actual price reductions ranging from 57,000 to 70,000 yuan.
MINI's sales in the Chinese market have been declining year by year since 2019. To address this, MINI has accelerated its electrification efforts, planning to stop launching fuel-powered models by 2025 and aiming to fully transition to a pure electric brand by early 2030.
However, facing strong competitors like BYD and SAIC-GM-Wuling, the electric MINI's market performance has been mediocre. This price reduction aims to enhance competitiveness but also reflects the challenges in the pure electric compact car market.
