I believe that whether it's calls or stocks, whether it's profit or loss, I use whether I can sleep peacefully as my standard. I once held 100% options, and I had to wake up several times a night to check my phone. Even if I did nothing, I wanted to see how it changed because a small fluctuation could be amplified dramatically. I have also experienced options being cut in half, options recovering, and options losing most of the profits again. My advice is to control your position size and not let stock trading affect your normal life.

Sort out my thoughts now. I was up nearly 50%, now down 10%. What have I gained during this period, and what's my state like.
Profited $25k, which is quite a lot for me, but I was never satisfied and wanted more. So I went crazy speculating on weekly options, leading to all profits being wiped out, and now I'm $4k below my principal.
Throughout the process, I witnessed firsthand how time decay on options accelerated exponentially, with huge ups and downs. Staying up late, waking up late, exercising less, and losing enthusiasm for work. It had a definitely negative impact on my life. I used to be relatively disciplined, but maybe the stock market amplified another side of me—my state has been full of ups and downs.
Multiple times during this period, I thought about quitting after one more trade, mainly because I wanted to quickly recover the last loss and get back to the peak, leading to one wrong step after another.
During last night's big drop, I was also reflecting—can I really withstand the downside risk with my current long calls? Honestly, without the profit cushion, I have no confidence at all because every drop is eating into my principal, and options don’t feel very safe. So I’m wondering whether to cut the options. Of course, by asking this, I’m already leaning toward cutting, but hh, I’m also afraid that if beta drops, the recovery speed will slow down a lot. This mindset also brings me back to the state of wanting to recover losses quickly. 🤔
So I also want to ask the bros for advice on my current state and positions.
