Rate Of Return🚀🔥Amazon's investment in Anthropic has increased to approximately $606 billion, with $128 billion in confirmed gains and an expected additional $150 billion in gains in Q1 2026.
They invested $80 billion in Anthropic in 2023.
This $606 billion consists of $458 billion in convertible bonds and $148 billion in non-voting preferred shares.
The mechanism is that as Anthropic raises new funds, these notes convert into preferred shares, so a new round of priced financing effectively elevates Amazon's position.
Anthropic has also committed to purchasing 1 million Trainium chips, linking model training demand to Amazon Web Services' capacity and economic benefits.
