Super Micro Computer (SMCI) co-founder Liao Yixian
was arrested for smuggling $2.5 billion worth of NVIDIA GPUs to the East,
and holds $464 million worth of SMCI stock.
Liao Yixian, Zhang Ruizeng, and Sun Tingwei used Southeast Asian shell companies to supply NVIDIA (NVDA) servers to buyers in the East.
They set up thousands of fake servers to deceive U.S. compliance audits.
Surveillance footage captured them using a hairdryer to replace serial number labels.
SMCI fell 12% in after-hours trading. Faces up to 30 years in prison.
