Google's two major conferences in April-May / Gradually allocate some liquid cooling
Latest research on Google's TPU: Google's AI chips are getting hotter, liquid cooling equipment: demand is surging. The overall value of Google's liquid cooling next year will be much, much higher than this year. Both optical modules and power supplies will adopt liquid cooling. As speeds increase and heat generation rises, they'll switch. XPO also has cold plates inside. Heat dissipation is a persistent challenge, so big companies are very open to heat dissipation solutions.
V3 power consumption is only 350~400W, V8 directly jumps to 1300W. V8's power is too high, one CDU can only manage 4~6 cabinets. For the same computing scale, the number of required CDUs and cold plates increases 2~3 times.
Increment from optical modules and switches: One set of cold plates for an NVL72 switch group is worth $10,000 (9 switchtray cold plates)
1.6T optical modules need liquid cooling more than 800G. Future CPO (Co-Packaged Optics) will have higher heat dissipation requirements, posing greater challenges for cold plates.
Current mainstream is single-phase cold plate (water cooling plate). Next-gen directions: micro-channel cold plates, two-phase immersion (higher efficiency but not yet mass-produced). All companies are sending samples to compete for customers: AVC sent 3 times, Cooler Master sent 2 times.
A-shares are basically Google's liquid cooling plays: Envicool, Dingtong Technology, Yidong Electronics, Shenling Environment, Qiangrui Technology, Gaolan Environment.
Which one can hit a new high... hard to say ☺️🌝🧏🏻♀️
