Why do we always miss out or sell too early? The Nasdaq had 12 consecutive gains last night. Recently, the most common questions I see are: "I missed out on [something], what should I do?" and "I sold [something] too early, so frustrating!"
I think the biggest reason for these problems is that many people always want to buy at the absolute bottom and sell at the absolute peak. This is a classic mistake. Even Warren Buffett can't buy and sell with perfect precision every time.
My approach is to buy as long as I think it's cheap enough and offers good value.
Another reason is that many people don't have enough confidence in the products they hold. They might get shaken by the slightest disturbance, which is also wrong.
I advise everyone to have confidence and conviction in a product before buying it. Don't panic. Panic often leads to poor decisions. That's why I always say not to panic and to stay steady during minor negative news.
