Trump extends US-Iran ceasefire but maintains maritime blockade, Stock Connect (for Hong Kong) sees net inflow of 3.738 billion yuan on Tuesday
Market Commentary
President Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire with Iran but maintained the maritime blockade, awaiting Iran's submission of a unified negotiation proposal. However, Iranian media later stated that they had not requested an extension of the ceasefire and ultimately decided not to participate in the talks originally scheduled for the 22nd. Additionally, Federal Reserve Chair nominee Kevin Warsh took a tough stance during his hearing, stating that the Fed needs "fundamental policy reform" and a new inflation framework, emphasizing its independence and that it is absolutely not the president's "puppet."
Southbound Stock Connect recorded a net inflow of 3.738 billion yuan on Tuesday. Among them, $CHINA MOBILE(00941.HK) saw the largest inflow, reaching 1.067 billion HKD; followed by $ICBC(01398.HK) . $BABA-W(09988.HK) recorded the largest net outflow, at 606 million HKD; followed by Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (06869.HK).
