Rate Of ReturnI am somewhat bullish on Tesla's $Tesla(TSLA.US) AI transformation, but it's more like a high-stakes gamble than a steady upgrade. Tesla has clearly shifted its focus to "physical AI," autonomous driving, and humanoid robots, with the company itself identifying AI and robotics as core directions.
There are three reasons for optimism: First, Tesla has a vast fleet of data and its own chip development layout. Second, once robotaxis and Optimus are deployed, the potential is huge. Third, the market is indeed re-pricing it from an automaker to an AI company. However, the risks are also significant: autonomous driving commercialization is not yet fully proven, competitors are ahead in some markets, and the AI transformation requires time, capital, and execution.
In a nutshell: It's worth being optimistic in the long term, but short-term excessive optimism is not advisable. If Musk can turn AI into scalable revenue, Tesla's valuation could climb another step. If deployment is slower than expected, the current hype will first be reflected in volatility and drawdowns.
