In 1970, Intel launched the world's first mass-produced DRAM dynamic memory. In 1988, Intel achieved commercial mass production of NOR Flash (NAND flash memory was invented by Toshiba in 1987).
1992: Samsung mass-produced 64Mb DRAM, officially joining the global top tier of high-end DRAM and completing an overtaking of Japanese memory manufacturers.
1999: Acquired LG Semicon, complementing high-end DRAM process technology, entering the global top 3; in 2013, launched the world's first mass production of HBM1 (the earliest commercial use of HBM in the industry);
In 2016, Yangtze Memory Technologies (3D NAND flash) and in 2016, ChangXin Memory Technologies (DRAM memory) were established, using the legacy Qimonda technology to develop with full effort. In 10 years, are they preparing for another overtaking? 🤣🤣🤣
