$Sandisk(SNDK.US) Although I hold storage, there's one thing I really don't understand. Since these CSPs can make their own chips because Jensen Huang's GPUs are too expensive, why can't they make their own storage? The barrier to entry for storage is much lower than for GPUs. If they get desperate, couldn't they just do it themselves? I think this is a long-term hidden worry. Similarly, storage manufacturers expanding production isn't just to make money; it's mainly because CSPs are too short on storage. Expanding production is to meet their demand and maintain relationships with them. Otherwise, if they push them too far, they might really step in and do it themselves. After all, Samsung's profit this quarter has already surpassed NVIDIA's. If storage prices remain high, a year's earnings could recoup the cost of building a factory. Why not do it themselves?
