As of 9:45, the SSE STAR Chip Index (000685) rose 0.5%, with component stocks Shanghai Silicon Industry up 6.87%, Tuojing Technology up 4.28%, ACX Shanghai up 2.96%, Puran Microelectronics up 2.83%, Raydium up 2.49%, VeriSilicon down 4.08%, CSSC Special Gas down 2.53%, Amlogic down 2.32%, Hygon Information down 1.18%, and ZKFeng Test down 0.15%. As of the previous trading day, the index had gained 118.69% over the past year.

The E Fund STAR Chip ETF (589130) continues to see capital inflows. As of the previous trading day, the fund recorded net inflows of RMB 114mn over the past month, RMB 1.419bn over the past three months, and RMB 1.896bn over the past six months.

In news, the National Bureau of Statistics released data showing that in July, the value-added output of above-scale high-tech manufacturing industries grew 16.9% YoY, accelerating by 2.8 percentage points from the previous month. By sector, value-added output for integrated circuit manufacturing, aircraft manufacturing, special equipment for electronic industry, and special electronic materials manufacturing grew 109.3%, 38.3%, 34.8%, and 30.8%, respectively. By product, AI-driven production volumes for sensors, memory chips, electronic components, and optical fibers increased by 35.3%, 30.2%, 23.4%, and 21.1%, respectively.

Guohai Securities stated that the global storage market size is expected to rise significantly in 2026, with a rapidly increasing share from data centers. Demand growth clearly outpaces supply growth, and the tight balance in industry supply and demand will last at least until 2027. In the long run, iterative upgrades in AI computing hardware will drive steady expansion in storage demand, keeping profitability for storage manufacturers at high levels.
