During the meeting, Dr. Zhang Dexi stated: 'Hong Kong is actively advancing its position as an international gold trading center by improving related market infrastructure. The establishment of HKGXTS marks a significant step in this journey. We expect the new system to enter trial operation in Q1 2027. In the first phase, it will integrate all existing HKGX products, trading, settlement, clearing, and services onto a unified platform. Subsequently, other electronic businesses will be introduced, including peripheral services related to tokenized gold. The system will embody the convergence of Finance + Web 3.0 and AI concepts, upgrading traditional physical gold into a value-appreciating, diversified, and flexible key asset.'

Sun Hao, CEO & Director of HKGXTS, added: 'HKGXTS will build a multi-tier precious metals trading and investment platform based on physical gold delivery, gradually expanding long-horizon electronic trading capabilities to serve industrial clients and international institutions. The company will leverage fintech to enhance trading efficiency, reduce transaction and settlement costs, and support multi-currency quoting and settlement. Guided by the HKSAR government's policy to build an international gold trading center, HKGXTS will actively align with the financial infrastructure development of the Hong Kong gold market, ensuring feasibility for integration with central clearing and regulatory systems, thereby supporting the long-term development of Hong Kong's gold industry.'

Regarding system construction, Zhao Hao, Chief Product & Technology Officer & Director, noted that this core platform upgrade is not merely a technical update but a foundational capability build for the long-term development of Hong Kong's gold market. Currently, the upgrade of the HKX spot gold core platform is progressing steadily according to the roadmap. The first phase will focus on integrating and smoothly transitioning existing product, trading, clearing, settlement, and service capabilities. Looking ahead, HKGXTS will explore international access, digital gold RWA, and cross-market expansion based on market development, regulatory requirements, and partnership conditions, continuously enhancing the platform's security, flexibility, and scalability.

In terms of technical cooperation, TGX will oversee overall design and project governance, while Hundsun Technologies will support core system delivery. Alibaba Cloud will provide cloud technology and future AI capabilities, creating a strong synergistic effect. Xiao Lanlan presented Hundsun Technologies' capabilities in system stability, security, and international application. Leveraging its expertise in fintech and trading systems, as well as the rich implementation experience of its wholly-owned subsidiary Hundsun Digital Intelligence Technology in financial infrastructure, Hundsun will support the core system construction of HKGXTS.

Yuan Zhiming outlined Alibaba Cloud's support arrangements for HKGXTS, providing technical assistance in cloud computing and digital infrastructure to help build a secure, stable, and scalable system foundation. Hundsun Technologies and Alibaba Cloud will fully leverage their respective advantages to jointly advance the gold trading system construction with HKGXTS.

As core platform construction progresses, HKGXTS will continue to enhance infrastructure capabilities related to trading, clearing, settlement, and market operations in the Hong Kong gold market. Aligning with the HKSAR government's development plans for relevant financial infrastructure, it will prepare systems, technology, and compliance frameworks. Under mature conditions, HKGXTS will actively explore standardized integration with banking systems, clearing platforms, and regulatory reporting infrastructure, providing technological support for Hong Kong's development as an international gold trading center and the long-term growth of its gold trading and markets.
