After dismantling China's ZEEKR 007 pure electric vehicle, Nikkei found its thermal management system uniquely designed. The air conditioning circuit can dehumidify and heat, with rich functions and clever component design that impressed Japanese technicians, but the smaller cooler size raised concerns about summer fast charging. The number of air conditioning system components in the ZEEKR 007 may be the highest among similar models, enabling various air conditioning modes through an efficient refrigeration cycle, especially the rare dehumidification heating mode. Its design philosophy emphasizes energy efficiency, maximizing refrigeration cycle efficiency to reduce energy consumption.
The smaller cooler size may not meet cooling demands during ultra-fast battery charging. The 007's lithium iron phosphate battery supports up to 500kW ultra-fast charging, but with limited battery temperature range, doubts remain about maintaining temperatures below specified limits during summer fast charging. The water circuit consists of three systems, enabling 12 operating modes through combinations of water pumps and flow path switching valves for different heating and cooling functions. Thermal management components include water storage tanks, coolers, four-way valves, three-way valves, water heaters, compressors, etc.
