TSMC Exec says ASML €350 million lithography tool too expensive, no purchase planned
TSMC's Co-Chief Operating Officer Zhang Xiaoqiang announced at the North America Technology Symposium that the company will not purchase ASML's High-NA EUV lithography machines, priced over €350 million each, deeming them too expensive. TSMC believes its current EUV systems are adequate for production needs. This decision may affect ASML's plans for large-scale production in 2027-2028 and its €60 billion revenue target for 2030.
